Earlier this month, ReAlta participated in the Virginia Air and Space Science Center’s (VASSC) STEM Career Day. In partnership with NASA Langley Research Center and local STEM-based companies, the Career Day’s mission is to broaden the STEM scope of young students and allows for the exploration of several different types of local STEM-based fields and careers. The event was attended by over 750 students and provided K-12 learners an opportunity to network and learn directly from local professionals in the 757 area. ReAlta participated in the event as part of our commitment to investing in our local community.
ReAlta Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Neel Krishna, and HIE Program Director Lori Upham attended and interacted with dozens of local students. In addition to answering questions about their own educational and career pathways, Neel and Lori led students through hands-on demonstrations with laboratory equipment utilized at ReAlta’s labs. Students of all ages crowded the ReAlta table for an opportunity to try out the pipettes! Through our participation in events like the STEM Career Day, ReAlta hopes to inspire the next generation of scientists, inventors and biotech innovators to pursue their dreams.
