ReAlta Life Sciences is happy to announce the successful second year of its emerging internship programs. Under these programs, students gain first-hand experience in both laboratory or business strategy. ReAlta’s interns operate out of the company’s headquarters in Norfolk, VA, and are part of the company’s broader efforts to increase economic opportunities for the Norfolk & broader 757 area, as well as giving students and others insight into the inner workings of the pharmaceutical industry.

ReAlta has two internship programs:

Laboratory/ Research: Under this program, interns will have the opportunity to experience ReAlta’s full-scale laboratory operations. Selected interns will be involved in many aspects of research, including initial peptide screening, assay and biomarker development. The goal of the laboratory internship is to give students and those interested in a science-based career a look into the world of pharmaceutical and biotechnology research.

Commercial Operations: Separate from the research internship, ReAlta’s commercial operations interns will be integrated into its commercial and strategic planning team. In this department, there are many opportunities for involvement in both short and long-term commercial strategy projects, working alongside ReAlta’s own commercial strategy team. These projects typically focus on forecasting, market research, human resource planning, and many other business aspects. The goal of the commercial operations internship is to afford its interns unique hands-on exposure to the business operations of pharmaceutical development.
